Week 14- PG Comps and Mahomes

Hey everyone!

This week was really fun! It started off with my exchange with Elder Nielson. Those of you who don't know, Elder Nielson went to PG and we played football together. He is the best! Every person we visited and we told that to freaked out and thought it was crazy. We eventually realized that it was pretty cool. Anyways we thought we would only be exchanging for like 1-2 days but it ended up going 5 days and was a lot of fun with him. Nice to have a friendly face.

Next, we had a lady named Lynn on date for baptism this last Saturday. But due to a family tragedy the night before she was unable to. It was really heartbreaking for all of us. Just a testament to me of Satan doing all he can to try and stop us from following the savior. Luckily she is doing a little better now and hopefully will be baptized this week. So everyone keep Lynn and her family in your prayers this week.

Since being here in Kansas City our mission President told us that Missouri, and Kansas City especially is known as one of the top places for BBQ in the country. Knowing that I love food I have been dying to try some before I go to Hong Kong. Luckily my prayer was answered and a member took us to Kansas City Joe's Barbecue and gas station which apparently is the #2 BBQ in the country. It was so so good. Definitely  lived up to the hype.

Last of course I can't leave out the Chiefs! They won of course and are headed to the super bowl! This place is so loyal to their Chiefs. Everyone so hyped because they won. It makes the missionary work better too. All you have to say is go Chiefs and instantly they like you and you have a conversation going hahah. We were parked at a stop light and a random guy yelled "Go Chiefs!" And he dapped us up through the window hahah I was dying I loved it.

We also had the opportunity on Saturday night to be on a missionary panel for the stake. There was like probably 50 or so youth of the stake there, and we introduced ourselves and said why we chose to serve a mission and answered their questions. It was a lot of fun. I couldn't believe that I was doing it, it feels like yesterday I was in the crowd asking questions and imagining my mission. But it was great, and hopefully I was able to inspire at least one kid in the audience to want to serve a mission.

I really am grateful to be a missionary. I have seen many miracles, and have really had my testimony grow. I am thankful to be a member of this church. We talk to so many crazy strange people who are so lost because they don't have Jesus Christ and the gospel in their lives. Every week I sit down in sacrament meeting I feel so much peace. It feels like I am home and I look forward to it every week. My invitation this week is to find time to study the scriptures this week. The scriptures especially the Book of Mormon has become my anchor, there are many times when my patience is tested and every time I read the scriptures I feel so much happier and receive revelation for myself and how I can be better. Hope you all have a great week!
