Week 16: How about dem Chiefs

Hey everyone! First off big shout out to my sister Abs for being named an all-american for volleyball. Holy crap she just can't stop getting awards. Love you abs. Also shout out to my little sis Lucy who is doing amazing in basketball!

This week was awesome, started off with another exchange with Elder Nielson, which is always so fun. We both love football so we were able to wake up early and go throw the football with a high school aged kid that Elder Nielson has been teaching. He plays football for the local high school in Harrisonville. So we threw with him on the turf at his high school in the snow. It was a lot of fun.

We also were able to tract near the bottom of his area in a little town called Adrian. It was mainly fields and barely anyone lived there. We knocked on this one house and a lady answered the door and we gave our door approach, she said she was interested in our message. Since their wasn't another man in the house over 18 we had to teach outside on the porch. We taught the full restoration right their on the porch. She liked it and said she would want to meet with the missionaries again. She had the cutest little boy who kept trying to get us to clean the front porch. He also offered us their entire house hahah he was cute. Made me feel so lucky and blessed for what I have and how I was raised.

As you all know this week was super bowl week which was a lot of fun here in Kansas City. Sunday our whole ward was wearing red at church. We took a ward photo with everyone in their Chiefs gear after church. We sent it to the Reid's (Because Andy and his family are in our ward)

*** Note from Kim: He told us that the man saying the closing prayer in Sacrament Meeting said at the end of his prayer, “If we are humble and not too loud please bless “Andy and the boys today.”

On Thursday, our mission President emailed us all and said that we had the choice if we wanted to watch the super bowl or not. We chose not to watch it. But we had one of the families who we are really close with in the ward give us updates on the game. And with 3 minutes left called us and gave us play by play. We had a decent idea how it was going because of the reactions of everyone around our apartment. Everyone was yelling and cheering everywhere. Of course when the Chiefs won the whole city erupted! Everyone going crazy. Fireworks everywhere, gun shots, everything you can think of. Everyone was outside celebrating, so we decided to run out and join them. Hahah it was a lot of fun. I feel lucky to be in Kansas City when the Chiefs won the super bowl! Apparenytly their is supposed to be the big championship parade on Wednesday and school is canceled that day. So hopefully we will be able to be involved in that somehow.

I know this church is true, I know my Savior lives. 2 Nephi 4:16 says "Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the lord;" I know that if we put our trust in the lord, and put his will before ours we will be blessed and happier for it. Hope everyone had a good week and enjoyed the superbowl!
