Week 19: Walk Week

This week went by so fast! But it was a good one. We had zone Conference this week which is always fun and good to see some of the other Elders and listen to some cool trainings.

We are on a car rotation this week so we were walking this week.  We did a lot of knocking which I love doing, it makes me feel like a missionary. We talked with some cool people and we got threatened by some people not to knock in that neighborhood during the day or at night. That is one thing that has amazed me since I have been here, there are definitely some sketchy neighborhoods especially at night. But I have never felt scared at all. I know it is the Lord watching over us.

My comp also hurt his shoulder some how we aren't sure how hahah. Maybe going too hard in spike ball we aren't sure yet. He has been a crack up about it. We will randomly be playing spike ball and he will move his arm and start yelling he is funny.

Hope everyone has a good week!

This kid just recently got home to Missouri from serving his mission serving here in Utah.  Max ran into him at a church activity last week. He ate  dinner here with us several times while serving in Lindon.  Small world!

**I had to report on Max this week in Sacrament Meeting for our Missionary Month.  This is the letter he sent me to read.

9th ward Missionary Month Letter 2020

9th Ward!!!  The best ward in the entire world!  Even though my ward right now has a member who is a super bowl champ, I would still give the 9th ward the edge.

Missionary month is such an awesome experience, I remember having lots of good memories from missionary moth.  I still remember my very first one with Dillon McSpadden at the Nelson home.  We had like a real missionary experience and taught a young lady who did not have a belief in God.  I Thought it was the most amazing thing every, being able to have a real missionary experience.  I also remember feeling how blessed I was to know that there is a God in Heaven who knows me and Loves me.

I just want to share a couple of thoughts about missionary work.  Missionary work truly is the greatest work on earth.  We are taking part in gathering Israel.  It is an amazing blessing to lose yourself in the work of the lord in serving others and feeding his sheep.  And in doing so you find yourself. D&C 98: 13 “And whoso layeth down his life in my cause, for my names sake, shall find it again, even life eternal.”  I know this to be true. I have definitely seen my life change because of my mission.  It is the most amazing thing ever.  Being able to see people change and see a light come into their life because of the Savior and because of this gospel.  It has been the greatest decision I have made in my life as well the greatest blessing.

So for all the youth in the Ward who are deciding to serve especially my Priest who I love.  I would say pray about it.  And take it to God the ultimate source of truth.  And just like it says in Moroni, “He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost.”  Missions are not easy by any means.  There are many things that are hard, and annoying, and scary even.  But the key is to trust in the Lord and lean on Him.  I have never prayed so much in my whole life then on my mission.  As long as you are turning to Christ and asking for help you will receive help and strength to keep going, and as you are bold and open your mouth you will see miracles.

I love this gospel and missionary work.  I know the Book of Mormon to be true.  It is the work of God.  I have witnessed its power to heal, it has healed me.  I love my Savior.  Through his atonement not only are we cleansed, we are able to change and progress towards him.  I am thankful to be a member of this church, what a blessing it has been in my life.  Some people are kept from the truth only because they know not where to find it.  I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be able to show people where they can find it.  I love the Lindon 9th Ward!  I hope you have a great Missionary Month!  In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
