Week 20: Dance Party
Week 20: Dance Party
Hey everyone! This week was a good one. It started off last Monday we had a lesson with some people we have been teaching and have become friends with. They told us that we have been teaching them too much about our church and they wanted to teach us about their "urban church" so they started playing their gospel music and we all started singing along. Then we all made a dance circle and started dancing together it was so funny and so much fun!
Tuesday we got a call that there was a man in our stake who was at St. Lukes hospital who just had a liver transplant and had asked for a blessing. The man was not in our ward. The other Elders in the stake who were in his ward were going to give him a blessing, but were unable to because of car miles. So me and Elder Ipsen had the privilege. It was a really tender experience. This man was the worlds biggest Chiefs fan and we told him that we were from Andy Reid's ward and he was so happy that it was us that came. Then after we gave him the blessing he started crying and grabbed our hands and said that he felt a physical change come over him and that he felt lighter and better. It was an awesome experience.
We have been continuing to teach our chinese lady Yanlan. She is great and comes to church by herself and comes on Wednesday night to our come follow me class. We are hoping to be able to invite her to be baptized soon. So pray for her.
This week I studied a lot about the Saviors life in Matthew. In chapter 16 Christ asks his apostles who they think he is. I have been pondering on that question this week. I know Christ to be my Savior and redeemer. He is my Brother and my friend. He is my advocate with the father and my healer. I know that as we strive to really come to know Christ and find out who he is we then can strive to be more like him. I hope everyone has a good week!
