Week 36: Happy Fathers Day!

Hey everyone! Happy Fathers day to all the fathers out there! Especially to my own dad, I love you. This was a great week. Super super busy, which is good because it always feels good to know you’re working hard and doing what you’re supposed to.

One cool experience this week was, we started playing soccer with a family in our ward two times a week in the evening. There are a lot of non members that go so it is a great opportunity to talk to some people in a natural way. My comp Elder Scott rolled his ankle playing within like the first 2 minutes, so we decided to shoot some hoops on the basketball courts that are next to the field.  After a while, a guy showed up so of course we went and talked with him and we started playing 21 with him. We got talking and he had fun with us so we got his number and are planning to play some more ball with him and hopefully share some messages with him.

Another really cool thing happened this week. We stopped by the Hong Kong Express for some food this week and I always ask the workers where they are from, and if they speak Cantonese. This week I talked with a 14 year old girl who said she spoke Cantonese. But when I asked her in Cantonese if she did she seemed confused. So I assume she knows very little to none. But she got her mom and her mom was better. She said to me "你好" (Hello) and I immediately got the biggest smile and asked her what her name was and she started talking to me  a little in Cantonese. She knew very little Cantonese and speaks mostly mandarin. It was my first time on my mission so far using Cantonese to speak to someone so it was really cool for me. Hopefully I will be able to continue to talk with them and maybe teach them.

2 Nephi 4:16 " Behold my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord;" I know I am happiest when I am doing what the lord wants me to do. Grateful to be in his service everyday. Hope you all have a good week!
