Week 15: First Baptism
Hey everyone! This week was a really amazing week. Super busy as usual. I went on some exchanges this week, which is always fun. I was able to eat some Costa Vida this week, It was so good hahaha reminded me of game days with my buddies.
Also on the exchange I got to bike for the first time. It was great I finally felt like a real missionary. It was freezing cold and raining so it added to the experience. Then we hung like over 200 family history door tags on peoples doors. Great day of missionary work.
We also had our first baptism of the transfer this week. (My first of my mission) It was so amazing. Lynn is an older lady that we have been teaching for a little bit. She has had a really hard life and doesn't have a lot of money. But she is amazing and was baptized even after her family tragedy last week. Evidence that miracles happen after trials of our faith. We were so happy for her and it was so amazing and spiritual. The water was pretty cold which was a fear for her but she pushed through it. When she came up out of the water she was so happy. She started clapping and saying "Amen" and it was so cute. She said to us "Y'all need to repent, because I am the cleanest one here." She was right it was funny.
I am thankful to be a missionary here in Kansas City. I have had the privilege to meet some of the nicest and most humble people I have ever met. I have grown to love them and this place. I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and his ability to heal me, and give me strength to keep going. I finished the Doctrine and Covenants this week and have gained a testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith. He truly is a man of God and went through so much hardship so that we can have the happiness of Christs restored gospel. I hope everyone has a good week.
