Week 19: Walk Week

Image
This week went by so fast! But it was a good one. We had zone Conference this week which is always fun and good to see some of the other Elders and listen to some cool trainings. We are on a car rotation this week so we were walking this week.  We did a lot of knocking which I love doing, it makes me feel like a missionary. We talked with some cool people and we got threatened by some people not to knock in that neighborhood during the day or at night. That is one thing that has amazed me since I have been here, there are definitely some sketchy neighborhoods especially at night. But I have never felt scared at all. I know it is the Lord watching over us. My comp also hurt his shoulder some how we aren't sure how hahah. Maybe going too hard in spike ball we aren't sure yet. He has been a crack up about it. We will randomly be playing spike ball and he will move his arm and start yelling he is funny. Hope everyone has a good week!  Elder Miller ...

Hey everyone! This was a great week! A lot of awesome things happened. First off I hit my 4 month mark! Crazy! It has been an amazing 4 months!  There was an awesome miracle this week. Elder Ipsen and I were knocking some doors near a Chinese lady that we were teaching but haven’t been able to get in contact with for over a month now. We knocked on her door and no one answered so we left and went to the next house. I was about to knock on the next one when we heard the lady yell towards us asking if we knocked. So she let us in and we talked with her and her family. We then taught the restoration. My comp Elder Ipsen told the first vision with power and  after he finished you could tell that they felt something. Then we looked up and there was a picture of the first vision on the wall of their house (kind of) it was a picture of trees with light showing through them. It was cool to show them that. Another cool thing happened, we have been working with another lady, and...

Week 17: Transfers

Hey everyone, first off Happy Birthday baby Jaynie!! Love you, can't believe your already 11! This week was a good one! On Wednesday the Chiefs had their championship parade, so of course we could not miss out on that especially because it was in our area!  We were able to go to the parade and see Coach Reid and Mahomes and the whole team.  It was a lot of fun. There was so many people there it was crazy. This week was also transfers, we found out our trio was getting split up on Tuesday. Elder Call was completely leaving the area and me and Elder Rich were separating but staying in the same ward, just getting new companions. It was sad to say goodbye to Elder Call, I will miss him.  I got a new companion Elder Ipsen from Bountiful Utah. He is the best! He is hilarious! I am excited this transfer is going to be a lot of fun. I am sure everyone has heard the news on Hong Kong, so be sure to keep Hong Kong in your prayers. Thankful to be a missiona...

Hey everyone! First off big shout out to my sister Abs for being named an all-american for volleyball. Holy crap she just can't stop getting awards. Love you abs. Also shout out to my little sis Lucy who is doing amazing in basketball!  This week was awesome, started off with another exchange with Elder Nielson, which is always so fun. We both love football so we were able to wake up early and go throw the football with a high school aged kid that Elder Nielson has been teaching. He plays football for the local high school in Harrisonville. So we threw with him on the turf at his high school in the snow. It was a lot of fun. We also were able to tract near the bottom of his area in a little town called Adrian. It was mainly fields and barely anyone lived there. We knocked on this one house and a lady answered the door and we gave our door approach, she said she was interested in our message. Since their wasn't another man in the house over 18 we had to teach outside on ...
