Week 37: The COVID scare and Farewell President Love
Hey everyone! This week went by so fast! It was a busy one and really fun! First started off we got a referral from the Bishop. His name is JD, and he is stationed down here at whiteman air force base just like everyone else. He used to be a member of the R LDS church in Montana, but had some issues with some of their beliefs and had a desire to find God again and to learn more about our church. We had an awesome lesson with him and were able to answer some of his questions. It was a really spiritual experience!
Next, we had a little bit of a COVID scare this week hahah. An Elder in the Zone came in contact with someone who tested positive with the virus, and we were at his district council 2 days later and the whole zone eventually became in contact with each other. So the Elders got tested, and both came back negative. But because of it our mission took some steps back to more of the quarantine feel. It was sad we weren't able to go to our last zone conference with President Love.
Last, President and Sister love are leaving this week and we are getting President and Sister Ames to replace them. I am going to miss President a lot! He is a really good man and I learned a lot of great lessons from him.
One funny thing that happened this week is one of the Elders we live with ordered some new garments because we go through a lot of them because of how hot and humid it is here. So they finally came in and he was so excited for them. He got half mens bottoms and half womans bottoms. We were all dying laughing, so now he has to send them back. It was great.
I listened to an amazing talk by Elder Holland called "Tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” It is an unbelievable talk. I would invite all of you to listen to it. He talks about how the Greatest commandment is to love the Lord our god with all our heart, might, mind and strength. And the first great truth is that God loves his children with all his Heart might mind and strength. And also that we get credit for trying. I know that when we give our best, Christ will multiply our efforts and make up the rest, just like he did with the loaves of bread and the fishes. Happy 4th of July!!!
