Week 15: First Baptism

Image
Hey everyone! This week was a really amazing week. Super busy as usual. I went on some exchanges this week, which is always fun. I was able to eat some Costa Vida this week, It was so good hahaha reminded me of game days with my buddies. Also on the exchange I got to bike for the first time. It was great I finally felt like a real missionary. It was freezing cold and raining so it added to the experience. Then we hung like over 200 family history door tags on peoples doors. Great day of missionary work. We also had our first baptism of the transfer this week. (My first of my mission) It was so amazing. Lynn is an older lady that we have been teaching for a little bit. She has had a really hard life and doesn't have a lot of money. But she is amazing and was baptized even after her family tragedy last week. Evidence that miracles happen after trials of our faith. We were so happy for her  and it was so amazing and spiritual. The water was pretty cold which was a fear for...

Week 14- PG Comps and Mahomes

Hey everyone! This week was really fun! It started off with my exchange with Elder Nielson. Those of you who don't know, Elder Nielson went to PG and we played football together. He is the best! Every person we visited and we told that to freaked out and thought it was crazy. We eventually realized that it was pretty cool. Anyways we thought we would only be exchanging for like 1-2 days but it ended up going 5 days and was a lot of fun with him. Nice to have a friendly face. Next, we had a lady named Lynn on date for baptism this last Saturday. But due to a family tragedy the night before she was unable to. It was really heartbreaking for all of us. Just a testament to me of Satan doing all he can to try and stop us from following the savior. Luckily she is doing a little better now and hopefully will be baptized this week. So everyone keep Lynn and her family in your prayers this week. Since being here in Kansas City our mission President told us that Missouri, and Ka...

Week 13- Ice Storms and the Chiefs

Hey everyone!  I want to start off by giving a special shout out to my sister abbie for winning Utah Gatorade Player of the year!!!  So proud of you abs!!  Just remember who peppered with you all those years haha love you! This week was a good one. Started off with having my first Zone Conference. It was great, and I learned a lot from some really good training and it's nice to be able to see and talk to all the other missionaries. Apparently we were supposed to have a massive Ice storm this last weekend. But it wasn't as bad as everyone thought it was going to be. We got a little snow and a little ice but not bad. Here in Kansas City if there is like any snow at all no one really goes out it is funny. It is just like a normal winter day in Utah. We were trying to invite some people to come to church but they would say something like "It's too Icy and dangerous to drive, I'm not driving, and neither should you." It was funny. But also as you ...

Week 12 - Happy New Year!

Image
Hey everyone!! Hope everyone had a good New Year! This week was a great week. Super busy.  Last Pday one of the ZL's broke his ankle playing a game so he had to go home for surgery. It was pretty sad. But because of that Elder Call the other ZL joined us, so I'm back in a Trio. One awesome thing this week, is one of our investigators we have been working with wanted to take us to get lunch. We said we would go wherever, and so he chose his favorite KFC. It was great, haha one of the workers tried to Bible bash with us about stuff with the church but then just walked away. Since we had Elder Call join us we combined teaching pools. Elder Call recently baptized a guy named Darnell Pipens so we were able to go to President Love's newly converts devotional at the VC where the new converts can bare their testimonies. It was super spiritual, and funny because after someone would bare their testimony another convert would start clapping it was great.  Another c...
